When my world was rocked and turned upside down, I started some heavy-duty research on health and wellness. For five years now, I’ve been reading everything I can find, listening to as many podcasts and summits as I can, and filling my brain with more data than it can remember. I loved 95% of what I was learning. For the most part, all these health coaches, doctors, and nutritionists that I was gaining from were spot on. But…something was missing… a very important part of my healing journey wasn’t mentioned: God.

There are tons of health coaches and nutritionists so why do I feel the need to add to what they’re already doing? Because the words, “But God…” appear hundreds of times in Scripture.

The waters flooded the earth for a hundred and fifty days. But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark, and he sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded. (Genesis 7:24-8:1)

You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. (Genesis 50:20)

This man was handed over to you by God’s deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross. But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him. (Acts 2:23-24)

They killed him by hanging him on a cross, but God raised him from the dead on the third day and caused him to be seen. (Acts 10:39b-40)

When they had carried out all that was written about him, they took him down from the cross and laid him in a tomb. But God raised him from the dead (Acts 13:29-30)

We cannot leave God out of the equation. God is the equation.

So when considering how my work will stand out among the plethora of health coaches, this was the key.

But, how do I translate that into a name for a business?

Well, let’s see. God is the answer for the healing because God is our Creator. The more that I learned about the body, the more I realized that I was (at least partially) to blame for my illness. I had treated my body horribly – feeding it junk which was never meant to swim through my intestines, depriving it of sleep, filling my blood with sugar, and pushing my mind and emotions to limits beyond what they could handle. BUT GOD had a better plan. He created our bodies to be self-healing. He fashioned complex and fascinating immune systems within our fragile anatomy so that we could withstand disease and injury. He gave us wonderful foods of all different shapes, sizes, colors, flavors, and textures that give our cells exactly what they need to be well. AND… He gave us grace, that even when we’ve treated our bodies like crap, He created them to be self-healing so that we could turn the ship around and steer into the sunny skies of good health. He CREATED us WELL. And there it was, the name, Created to be Well.

That is my message. That is my passion. I am not passionate about broccoli or probiotics. I am passionate about the Creator, about His design for our lives and our bodies. I am passionate about helping people get back to what God intended so that they can fulfill their calling without the chains of disease holding them back.

I want to spend my days educating people about God’s plan for their bodies, supporting people as they struggle to overcome their addictions to food, and pointing people to the One who can give them strength for the journey.

So friend, know this: You were created to be well. God does not intend for you to suffer like you are. Joint pain, insomnia, obesity, etc was never in His plan for you. It’s not too late to turn the ship around. If I did it, I know you can too… with a lot of help from the Creator, of course.
